Ulysses Ribeiro Jr. graduated in Medicine from the Federal University of Paraná in 1986 and received a Master’s degree in Digestive System Surgery from the University of São Paulo in 1994 and a PhD in Digestive System Surgery from the University of São Paulo in 1998. He completed Free Teaching in Digestive System Surgery at the University of São Paulo in 2002. He is currently an Associate Professor of Level 3 of Digestive System Surgery at the Department of Gastroenterology in the Faculty of Medicine at the University of São Paulo, where he works at the Cancer Institute of the State of São Paulo, Otávio Frias de Oliveira (ICESP-HCFMUSP). He has experience in the field of Medicine, with an emphasis on Digestive System Surgery, working mainly on the Carcinogenesis of the Digestive System, Tumor Markers, and Minimally Invasive Surgery (laparoscopic, thoracoscopic, and robotic). He is a specialist in Digestive System Surgery and Colo-Proctology. He obtained a qualification in Video-Endoscopic Surgery, a qualification in Oncological Surgery of the Digestive System, and a unification of the “Qualification in Video-Endoscopic Surgery” Certificate, which was granted by the Brazilian College of Surgeons, Brazilian College of Digestive Surgery, Brazilian Society of Colo-Proctology, and Brazilian Medical Association in 2007.
