Dr. Ana María Lacasta is a Professor at the Department of Architectural Technology, Barcelona, School of Building Construction, Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, Barcelona, Spain. She received her Ph.D. degree in physical sciences from the University of Barcelona. She is currently a Deputy Director of EPSEB and coordinates the PhD program "Technology of Architecture of Building and Urban Planning". She is also the Head of the research group GICITED and the Acoustics and Energy Saving Lab at the EPSEB. She is developing research in the fields of development and the characterization of biomaterials for use in construction and the analysis and improvement of fire behavior of materials.
