Author Biographies

Manish Sakhakarmy received his MS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Nevada, Reno, and is now pursuing a PhD in Biosystems Engineering at Auburn University. His research interests include biomass pyrolysis, hydrogen treatment, bio-fuel production, resin synthesis, and additive manufacturing.
Ayden Kemp received his BS in Biosystems Engineering from Auburn University in 2024 and is now pursuing a MS in Biosystems Engineering. He has worked as an undergraduate and graduate researcher at Auburn University since 2022. He has been honored as a 2023 Goldwater Scholar and a 2023 Astronaut Scholar. His research topics mainly include biofuels, sustainable aviation fuels (SAF), plastic waste upcycling, and catalytic pyrolysis.

Dr. Sushil Adhikari is a professor in the Department of Biosystems Engineering and the Director of the Center for Bioenergy and Bioproducts at Auburn University. He obtained his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Tribhuvan University, Nepal; his M.S. in Energy Technology from the Asian Institute of Technology, Thailand; and his Ph.D. in Biological Engineering from Mississippi State University. His research interests are biomass gasification; biomass pyrolysis; hydrothermal liquefaction; torrefaction; and biodiesel production.
