Ersilia Nigro is the Researcher RTB at the DISTABIF Department, University of Campania “L. Vanvitelli”. Ersilia Nigro received a degree in Biotechnology for Health and a degree in Medical Biotechnology at the University of Naples “Federico II” in 2006 and 2008, respectively, earned a Ph.D. in PhD in “Genetics and Molecular Medicine”- XXIV cycle at the University of Naples “Federico II” in 2012, and completed the specialization in “Clinic Biochemistry” at the Second University of Naples in 2016. Ersilia Nigro is also a member of the European Respiratory Society and the Italian Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. Ersilia Nigro’s research areas mainly include Adiponectin: role and involvement of the protein
in different patho-physiological states; Study of peptides involved in innate immunity: human beta defensins; Mannose-binding Lectin (MBL); Isolation and expansion of human lung stem cells for use in regenerative medicine.
Prof. Fiorenzo Moscatelli is an Associate Professor who works at the Faculty of Human Sciences, Education and Sport, Pegaso Telematic University, Napoli, Italy. He also works at the Department of Human Movement and Sport Sciences, University of Rome “Foro Italico”, Rome, Italy, and at the Department of Clinical and Experimental Medicine, University of Foggia, Foggia, Italy. He completed his
Ph.D. in Sport Science and Ergonomics at the University of Rome “Foro Italico” in 2017. He is an academic researcher and has contributed to research in medicine and transcranial magnetic stimulation. He has an h-index of 27 and has co-authored 66 publications receiving 1931 citations (Scopus, 2 November 2023).
Marcellino Monda is a Full Professor of Physiology (scientific disciplinary field BIO-09) at the Department of Experimental Medicine of the University of Campania “Luigi Vanvitelli”, Caserta, Italy and President of the Napoli Graduate School of Medicine of the University of Campania “Luigi Vanvitelli”. He is also the Director of the School of Specialisation in Sports Medicine at the School of Medicine and Surgery of the University of Campania “Luigi Vanvitelli”, the Director of the UOC of Dietetics, Sports Medicine, and Psychophysical Wellbeing at the University Hospital of the University of Campania “Luigi Vanvitelli” and Rector’s Delegate for Sport. His main lines of research (on laboratory animals and humans) are (1) Nervous control of body temperature. (2) Correlations between thermogenesis and eating behavior. (3) Cortical and hypothalamic control of vegetative functions. (4) Autonomic responses to stimulation with orexin A under various conditions, including those from the administration of psychotropic drugs. (5) Control of nociceptive transmission. (6) Metabolic-vegetative structure in physiological and pathological conditions (obesity and diabetes).
Prof. Giovanni Messina is Full Professor of Physiology at the Department of Clinical and Experimental Medicine, at the University of Foggia. He specialized in Sports Medicine and Nutrition at the Second University of Neaples, graduated in Medicine at the Second University of Neaples, and obtained a PhD in Food and Health. His research interests include Sympathetic Nervous System, Energy Expenditure, Orexin, and eating behavior, etc.
Dr. Rita Polito is
a researcher of Clinical and Experimental Medicine at the University of
Foggia. She obtained a PhD in Scienze Biomolecolari (DISTABIF) at the University
of Campania, Luigi Vanvitelli. Her research interests include obesity, caloric
restriction, Adipose tissue, adiponectin, central nervous system, orexin-a,
bariatric surgery, and Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS), etc.
