Dr. Mathieu Ouedraogo is a Senior Scientist at the Alliance of Bioversity International and the International Center for Tropical Agriculture (CIAT)–Africa hub, based in Senegal. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Agronomy and an Engineering degree in Agricultural Economics from the Hassan II Agronomic and Veterinary Institute (Morocco), a Master’s degree in Development, Environment, and Societies from the University of Liège (Belgium), and a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Ouagadougou (Burkina Faso). Before joining CIAT, he worked as a senior scientist for the CGIAR research program on Climate Change, Agriculture, and Food Security (CCAFS) at the International Crop Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT) in Mali, between 2013 and 2022. In this position, he led the development of climate-smart villages and climate-smart agricultural value chains to promote the uptake of resilient agriculture in West Africa. Prior to this position, he was a researcher in Agricultural Economics at the Institute for Environmental and Agricultural Research (INERA) in Burkina Faso from 2000 to 2013. His area of expertise mainly includes agricultural and environmental economics, agricultural policy, technology development and transfer, climate-smart agriculture, participatory action research, and value chain analysis.

Dr. Peter Läderach holds an MSc in Geography and a PhD in Tropical Agriculture. From 2020 to 2022, he served as a Principal Climate Scientist at the World Food Programme. He is currently the Leader of the Climate-Smart Technologies and Practices Flagship of the CGIAR Research Program on Climate Change, Agriculture, and Food Security (CCAFS) and is based in Rome, Italy. He is currently also seconded to the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) as a Principal Climate Scientist on behalf of CCAFS. His research keywords mainly include climate change, natural resource management, and agriculture.
