Author Biographies

Aidos Konkayev is head of the Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care Department at the Astana Medical University and National Scientific Center of Traumatology and Orthopedics named after acad. N.Batpenov. He completed his PhD studies at the Astana Medical University, and was awarded "best young teacher" by the European Society of Anaesthesiology (Milan, 2006). He recently led the project "Innovative method for reducing infectious complications after orthopaedic interventions by preventive perioperative hemocorrection". He has published 27 papers in various journals, and serves as vice-president of the Kazakh Society of Anaesthesiologists and Intensivists, and director of the Regional Center of Continuous European Education in Anaesthesiology (CEEA) from the European Society of Anaesthesiology (ESA). His teaching disciplines include anaesthesiology and intensive care, emergency medicine, and his interests include the intensive care of patients with sepsis and septic shock. He is a national coordinator of the international multicenter study «Continuous Infusion Versus Intermittent Administration of Meropenem in Critically ill Patients», 2023. He is a member of the editorial board of the next international peer-reviewed journals “Annals of Intensive Care” and “Regional Analgesia and Postoperative Pain”. He is a review editor of the international peer-reviewed journal “Frontiers in Medicine”.
