Author Biographies

Dr. Lidan Xu, PhD in Engineering, has a position as a lecturer and a master’s tutor. Currently, she is working at the School of Civil Engineering, Inner Mongolia University of Science and Technology, Baotou, China. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Heilongjiang University of Science and Technology, Harbin, China, and a master’s degree and a doctorate from Harbin Engineering University, Harbin, China. Her main research areas are composite material mechanics, shape memory alloy composites, and smart concrete structures. She presided over one Inner Mongolia Natural Science Foundation project, one Inner Mongolia University of Science and Technology Construction Research Institute Open Fund project, and one Inner Mongolia University of Science and Technology Innovation Fund project. She teaches undergraduate courses “Basics of Engineering Drawing and CAD” and “Architectural Mechanics” and graduate courses “Graduate Thesis Writing and Guidance”.
Miaomiao Zhu is a master's student at the School of Civil Engineering, Inner Mongolia University of Science and Technology, Her main research interests are intelligent concrete, shape memory alloy reinforcement of concrete structures, and shape memory alloy composite materials.
Dr. Jitao Zhao has a position as an Associate Professor and is currently working at the School of Civil and Architecture Engineering, Panzhihua University, Panzhihua, China. She holds a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in Engineering Mechanics from the School of Mechanics and Engineering of Liaoning University of Engineering and Technology, Fuxin, China. She also holds a PhD in Solid Mechanics from the School of Aerospace and Architectural Engineering of Harbin Engineering University, Harbin, China. She was a lecturer at the School of Science at Heilongjiang University of Science and Technology, Harbin, China. Her research directions are the mechanical properties of metal materials and the comprehensive utilization of industrial solid waste. She lectures on 10 undergraduate and postgraduate courses such as “Elastic-Plastic Mechanics”, edits and publishes one “Twelfth Five-Year Plan” textbook, and participates in the compilation of one case textbook. She won second prize in the National Coal Industry Education and Teaching Achievement Award, first prize in the school-level teaching achievement award, three school-level teaching awards, a third-class municipal science and technology award, and a first-class provincial university science and technology award. She presided over two teaching research and education reform projects. She has two authorized invention patents and four authorized utility model patents.
Dr. Ming Chen received a bachelor’s degree in Engineering from Baotou Iron and Steel Institute, majoring in Construction Engineering, a master’s degree in Engineering from the College of Construction Engineering of Inner Mongolia University of Science and Technology, and a doctorate in Engineering from the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering of the University of Science and Technology Beijing. His main research fields are the study of steel structure and spatial structure theory and design. He is the dean of the School of Civil Engineering of Inner Mongolia University of Science and Technology, the director of the Institute of Steel Structure and Spatial Structure of Inner Mongolia University of Science and Technology, an expert in the library of the Ministry of Science and Technology, an online evaluation expert of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, an employed expert of the Degree and Graduate Education Center of the Ministry of Education, and a director of the Steel Structure Stability Fatigue and Education Branch of the China Steel Structure Association. He is a member of the Chinese Mechanics Group, the Structural Engineering Professional Committee of the Chinese Mechanics Society, the Expert Committee of the China Steel Structure Association, and a standing committee member of the Education Branch of the China Construction Metal Structure Association.
Dr. Mingfang Shi has a position as a Lecturer and a Master’s Tutor and is currently working at the School of Civil Engineering, Inner Mongolia University of Science and Technology, Baotou, China. He received his bachelor’s degree and doctorate in Engineering from Harbin Engineering University, Harbin, China. His main research directions are the reinforcement of concrete structures by shape memory alloys and the mechanical analysis of shape memory polymers and their composites. He teaches the undergraduate courses “Engineering Mechanics” and “Material Mechanics” and the postgraduate course “Fracture Mechanics”. He is a member of the Mechanics Society of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. He won the second prize of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Science and Technology Progress Award in 2022 from the Science and Technology Department of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.
