Joanna Kacprzyńska-Gołacka, is a Doctor of Science and a member of the research team at the Surface Engineering Centre of Łukasiewicz Research Networks—Institute for Sustainable Technology in Radom. She graduated from the Radom University of Technology, and is the co-author of over 40 scientific papers. Her main area of research concerns issues related to the practical implementation of various surface treatment methods, in particular, using plasma. Her research topics focus on the design of complex material surface engineering solutions, which include the design, production, and testing of the properties of thin coatings for specific industrial applications. Her research on advanced surface treatment technologies determines the required functional and operational properties. Her research focuses on surface engineering solutions that enable the modification of the functional properties of products in the area of the health and safety of citizens, specifically including the bactericidal and antiviral properties of materials.
Prof. Halina Garbacz is a Professor at the Warsaw University of Technology, Faculty of Materials Science and Engineering, Warsaw, Poland. She obtained her Master's degree in engineering, a Doctorate in technical sciences, and Habilitation degree in technical sciences from the Warsaw University of Technology, Faculty of Materials Science and Engineering, in 1984, 1997, and 2011, respectively. Her scientific research focuses on the plastic deformation of metals, its impact on microstructure and mechanical properties, how metals are shaped using large plastic deformation (SPD) methods, the physics of plastic deformation, and the relationship between the structure and functional properties of these materials.
Prof. Dr. Jerzy Smolik is a Full Professor and the Head of the Surface Engineering Department of the Łukasiewicz Research Network—Institute for Sustainable Technology in Radom. He graduated from the Faculty of Materials Science and Engineering, Warsaw University of Technology. He has worked as the author and co-author of over 100 scientific articles, and is the author of the monograph "The role of composite layers: nitride layer/PVD coating for increase of durability of forging dies". His specialised research concerns hybrid surface treatment technologies for the creation of advanced coating materials for different technical applications.
