Ionel Papuc currently works as a Professor in the Department of Semiology and Medical Imaging, Etopatologie, Radiology and Radiation Protection, and in the Department for the Preparation of Didactic Personnel, University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine of Cluj-Napoca. From 2004 to 2018, he was the Director of the Doctoral School of Veterinary Medicine, University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine of Cluj-Napoca. He holds a Ph.D. in Veterinary Medicine, Medical Sciences from the University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine of Cluj-Napoca in 1999, as well as a Ph.D. in Psychology from the Babeş-Bolyai University of Cluj-Napoca in 2007. In 2012, he was awarded the Ion Adameşteanu Prize by the Department of Veterinary Medicine, Academy of Agricultural and Forestry Sciences. He also received the Traian Savulescu Prize from the Romanian Academy in 2013.
