Federal University of Sao Carlos in 2005. After a period in the private sector,
he joined the Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation (Embrapa) as Senior
Researcher in 2007. He is also a regular professor of the Chemistry Graduation
Program at Federal University in Sao Carlos (UFSCar) and Sao Paulo University
(USP). Since 2012 he has been the Coordinator of AgroNano Network, supported by
Embrapa to manage its nanotechnology research with different academic and
industrial partners. In 2013–2015 he served as Executive Secretary of the

routes to produce heterogeneous catalysts for water decontamination and energy
production, investigations about the catalytic activity of nanoparticles, and
the development of nanocomposites for slow/controlled release in agriculture.
