Dr. Vlastimil Brožek is a Scientific Worker and Associate Professor at the Department of Materials Engineering, Institute of Plasma Physics of the Czech Academy of Sciences. He received a B.S. in Engineering from the Institute of Chemical Technology Prague in 1961 and a Ph.D. degree from the Institute of Chemical Technology Prague in 1968. He worked as a Research Worker at PRAMET Šumperk from 1961 to 1964, as an Associate Professor at the Institute of Chemical Technology Prague since 1964, and as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Université Libre Bruxelles, Université René Descartes, Paris V from 1971 to 1973. Since 1990, Dr. Brožek has served as a Scientific Worker at the Institute of Plasma Physics. He was awarded the Silver Plaque by the CSVTS Society in 1988. Moreover, Dr. Brožek is editorial staff of "Powder Metallurgy Progress", a member of the Plansee Society on Powder Metallurgy, Austria (since 1974), and a member of the European Rare-Earth and Actinide Society (ERES; since 1997). He has 78 publications with more than 400 citations (from Scopus, 18 April 2024) and an h-index of 11. His research interests mainly include plasma spraying, Tungsten, BN, Boron Carbide, and composites.
