Author Biographies

Dr. Wang Xin is currently a research associate at the Institute of Laser Engineering, School of Physics and Optoelectronic Engineering, Beijing University of Technology. The primary focus of his research is on defects controlling, microstructures and performance regulation in LPBF. He is also interested in optimizing the design and performance of lattice structures, as well as utilizing automatic performance-based AI generation for complex structures.
Dongyun Zhang is a Professor/Doctoral Supervisor at the 3D Printing Center of the Department of Materials and Manufacturing, Beijing University of Technology, chief scientist of the Ministry of Science and Technology’s key R&D project in the field of Sino-German cooperation in intelligent manufacturing, and the first scholar in the world to successfully use SLM to manufacture aluminum alloy parts. She obtained a bachelor's degree in engineering in 1992 and a master's degree from Jilin University in 1995, majoring in welding. From 1995 to 1999, she worked at Changchun University of Science and Technology, engaged in teaching and scientific research in laser surface modification. In 1999, she was awarded the status of a visiting scholar in Germany by the National Scholarship Council. From 2000 to 2004, she worked at the Fraunhofer Institute of Laser Technology in Germany, mainly conducting research in the field of selective laser melting (SLM). In 2004, she obtained a doctorate in engineering from RWTH Aachen University in Germany, majoring in mechanical manufacturing. She currently serves as a permanent director of the Beijing Optical Society, an expert committee member of the China Additive Manufacturing Industry Alliance, a member of the Sino-German Intelligent Manufacturing Innovation Alliance, an international cooperation expert of the Ministry of Science and Technology, and a member of the Optical Society of America.

Dr. Tianci Li is a lecturer at the School of Physics and Optoelectronic Engineering, Beijing University of Technology. She received her Bachelor’s degree in 2015 and completed her PhD studies in Vehicle Utilization Engineering at Beijing Jiaotong University. She did her postdoctoral training at Beijing University of Technology. Her research interests include Laser Additive Manufacturing Technology and 3D Printing.
