Prof. Dr. Antonio Giuliano is a clinical associate professor at the Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences, University of Hong Kong. He graduated from Italy as a doctor in veterinary medicine in 2007. While working in general practice, he completed a master's degree in Small Animal Oncology from the University of Pisa, a postgraduate certificate in cancer therapeutics at Barts Cancer Institute in London, and the GpCert (SAM) in internal medicine. He completed a rotating internship in a busy referral practice in the UK and an oncology internship and residency at the Queen Veterinary School Teaching Hospital (QVSH) at the University of Cambridge. After completing the residency, he worked for one year as an oncology clinician and supervisor at the QVSH. In 2019, he moved to Hong Kong (HK) to work as an oncologist and head of specialists at CityU VMC, HK's largest multidisciplinary referral hospital, before moving back to Academia. He is a recognised European, RCVS, HK, and Asian specialist in small animal oncology. He has a broad interest in cancer research, focusing on finding new drugs and therapeutic approaches to improve the survival time and quality of life of pets. He is also interested in preclinical and clinical investigations into the development of rapid tests to predict the prognosis and/or early diagnosis of cancer.
Prof. Dr. Rodrigo dos Santos Horta is a professor at the Department of Veterinary Medicine and Surgery, Veterinary School, Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (UFMG, Brazil), where he got his Ph.D. in Veterinary Medicine. He was a professor of Veterinary Medicine at the Universidade Vila Velha. He also attended the University of Cambridge as a Ph.D. visiting student of Veterinary Medicine in 2016. His research interests include clinical oncology, cancer diagnostics, immunohistochemistry, molecular oncology, PCR, internal medicine, epidemiology, cancer biology, cancer biomarkers, and tumours.
