Prof. Huanxian Cui received a bachelor's degree from Qingdao Agricultural University in 1997, a master's degree from Yunnan Agricultural University in 2008, and a doctorate from the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences in 2011. He has been working at the Beijing Institute of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences since 2015. His research directions and achievements are mainly engaged in the analysis of genetic mechanisms and functional gene localization of important economic traits such as broiler chicken quality, intramuscular fat, abdominal fat rate, etc., the molecular regulation mechanism of fat metabolism, and its relationship with chicken quality. In view of the current situation that yellow-feathered broilers in my country have excellent quality but low production efficiency, focusing on the two core issues of chicken production efficiency and muscle quality, we have carried out the analysis of genetic mechanisms of important economic traits of chickens, and the research and development of efficiency and quality balance breeding technology.
Prof. Yuming Guo serves as the Dean of the College of Animal Science and Technology, Distinguished Professor of the Talent Program of the Ministry of Education, and Deputy Director of the State Key Laboratory of Animal Nutrition. He also holds the position of Vice President of the Chinese Society of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine (October 2016 to present), Chairman of the Animal Nutrition Branch of the Chinese Society of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine (October 2012 to October 2016), and the Vice President of Beijing Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Society (January 2015 to present). He obtained a bachelor's degree at the Huazhong Agricultural University and a Ph.D. at the Beijing Agricultural University. From 2001 to 2002, he was a Visiting Professor at the Department of Poultry Science, North Carolina State University, USA. Currently, he is an expert in broiler nutrition and feed in the National Broiler Industry Technology System and is responsible for teaching graduate courses: "Topics in Poultry Nutrition" and "Advances in Animal Science Research".
Prof. Jie Wen received his doctorate in animal nutrition from the Graduate School of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences in 1991. From 1994 to 1996, he worked as a postdoctoral fellow at University College Cork, Ireland. Since 1991, he has worked at the Beijing Institute of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, as a researcher, doctoral supervisor, and deputy director. Chief scientist of the National Modern Agricultural Industry Technology System (Broilers), director of the White-Feathered Broiler and Yellow-Feathered Broiler Expert Committee of the China Animal Husbandry Association, and Vice Chairman of the Poultry Branch of the Chinese Society of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine. He is mainly engaged in the analysis of the genetic basis of complex traits such as chicken feed efficiency, meat quality, and disease resistance, the research and development of cutting-edge breeding technologies, and the cultivation of new varieties.
