Jack Clark Francis born Indianapolis, Indiana. Received his BS in business and MBA from Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana. Jack married, had two children and divorced after 16 years of marriage. While married Jack enlisted in the US Army, promoted to Lieutenant and honorably discharged after two years of active duty. After discharge Jack moved to Seattle, Washington and enrolled in the University of Washington. Received PhD in finance from the University of Washington. Took a position as Assistant Professor of Finance at the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. Jack was also an Economist at the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia for two years. Then Jack took a position as Associate Professor of Economics and Finance at Baruch College in New York City. After three years he was given tenure and promoted to Full Professor. Jack married second time and still married. Jack likes to teach investments, portfolio theory, derivatives, speculative markets, financial intermediaries and money and banking courses. McGraw-Hill, Prentice-Hall and John Wiley & Sons have published 21 finance textbooks Jack authored or co-authored. Jack published over 50 scholarly articles in refereed academic finance and economics journals. Jack on Editorial Board of Financial Management for several years. Now on Editorial Board of the Review of Quantitative Finance and Accounting, and, Review of Pacific Basin Financial Markets and Policies.
