Dr. Abdel-Hakim Bouzid is a professor at the Mechanical Engineering Department of ÉTS and an ASME fellow. He is the director of the Static and Dynamic Sealing Laboratory of ÉTS. Dr. Bouzid is a former chair of the ASME Pressure Vessel and Piping Division. He has over 200 publications on stress analysis of pressure vessels and piping. His research interests include leakage testing, bolted joints, packed stem valves, self-loosening, creep, thermal ratcheting, expanded joints, risk analysis of PVP. Experimental, analytical and numerical methods are used in different research areas. Current projects include interfacial leaks, FRP flanges, elastic interaction, creep and thermal ratcheting of HPDE, PVC and PTFE, Self-loosening of bolted joints, and residual stresses in the transition zone of tube-to-tube sheet joints.
