Guoquan Zhang, DVM, PhD, is a Professor of Molecular Microbiology and Immunology at the University of Texas at San Antonio, San Antonio, USA. He received his M.S. in Virology from the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences and his Ph.D. in Microbiology and Immunology from the University of Gifu, Japan. Dr. Zhang’s research focuses on understanding the cellular and molecular mechanisms of protective immunity against aerosolized intracellular bacterial pathogens and developing novel approaches for discovery of safe, effective vaccines and immunotherapeutic strategies against aerosol-transmitted intracellular bacterial pathogens.
