Kira Tosefsky is an MD/PhD student in Experimental Medicine at the University of British Columbia, with a BSc in Cellular, Anatomical, and Physiological Sciences. She is engaged in several research projects in the fields of neuro-oncology and movement disorders. She is broadly interested in the applications of data science innovations to accelerate biomarker research for enhancing disease risk stratification, diagnosis, prognosis, and the monitoring of treatment effectiveness.

Prof. Ali Bashashati is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine and the School of Biomedical Engineering, University of British Columbia. His research area is the computational, engineering, and biomedical sciences interface. He is interested in developing machine learning and signal processing algorithms, as well as software infrastructure, to combine various sources of omics and imaging data, with a major emphasis on translational medicine, as well as discovering novel complex biological information related to cancer.
Prof. Dr. Stephen Yip is a neuropathologist and clinician scientist at Vancouver General Hospital. He is the medical director of the Cancer Genetics and Genomics Laboratory at BC Cancer. He is an associate professor at the University of British Columbia, where he completed his MD-PhD training. His current research interests are in the genomic/epigenomic characterization of glioma and the deployment of advanced molecular testing for cancer, at scale.
