Prof. Dr. Tony Jan is a Professor and Head of Information Technology leading research in AI, IT, cloud, games, and cybersecurity programs at Torrens University Australia. Before this role, Tony was an Associate Professor and Associate/Deputy Head of School at the Melbourne Institute of Technology (5 years) and the University of Technology Sydney (10 years), respectively. He specializes in machine learning for cybersecurity/smart digital technologies and has published over 70 high-impact journal and conference articles. Tony received the University Academic Leadership Award (2022) and Research Excellence Award (2023). He is the current Director of the Artificial Intelligence Research Centre at Torrens, and his research has been supported by several grants including ARC discovery and large-scale industry-sponsored grants (over AUD 20 million) in the domains of AI and homeland security. His research interests include federated machine learning for IoT security; ensembled machine learning for real-time industry applications; cognitive machines for human-centric computing applications; and smart sensor networks for intelligent environment monitoring.
Prof. Dr. Alistair Barros is the Head of the School and Academic Program Leader of Service Science at QUT’s School of Information Systems at the Faculty of Science, QUT. He has a PhD from the University of Queensland and ICT experience across academic and industry organizations, including being a Global Research Leader at SAP AG. Alistair's research is focused on the design, evolution, interoperability, and optimization of enterprise systems through contemporary cyber-physical settings, enabled by cloud, industrial internet-of-things, and blockchain platforms. His research interests include service computing methods and techniques applied to software architectures and microservices; business process management; model-based systems re-engineering; and distributed service optimization and coordination. His work previously applied to service industries in the banking and public sector and has extended to cyber-physical domains including construction, manufacturing, and supply chains. He has led the Australian Research Council, Cooperative Research Centre, and EU Framework.
Dr. Md Whaiduzzaman completed his undergraduate degree in Electronics and Computer Science with first-class honours, and he obtained an MSc degree in Telecommunication and Computer Network Engineering from London South Bank University, UK. He completed his Ph.D. and worked on a high-impact research project in the Mobile Cloud Computing Research Group, Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology, University of Malaya, Malaysia. He is a Professor at the Institute of Information Technology (IIT) at Jahangirnagar University. Currently, he is working as a postdoctoral research fellow in an Australian Research Council (ARC)-funded Discovery Project at the Queensland University of Technology, Brisbane, Australia. His research interests are mobile cloud computing, vehicular cloud computing, mobile and wireless communications, service provisioning, resource management, big data, fog computing with IoT and microservices, blockchain, and different security issues. He received the "Elsevier JNCA" best paper award in Paris, France, and the "Best Impact" conference paper award in 2021, Nottingham, UK.
