Larisa Prpić Massari, MD, PhD, specialized in dermatovenerology in 2005, and throughout her career, she devoted herself to certain dermatological fields such as autoimmune skin diseases and dermatological oncology. She attended many professional training seminars in dermatological centers of excellence in Europe, as well as numerous symposia and courses as an attendee as well as a lecturer. She is a member of the Croatian Dermatovenerological Society (HDVD), the European Academy of Dermatovenerology (EADV), the European Society of Dermato-Oncologists (EADO), and the International Dermoscopy Society (IDS). Today, she performs the function of full professor and scientific advisor at the Department of Dermatovenerology Medical Faculty University of Rijeka, and she is a head of the Department of General Dermatology at the Dermatovenerology Clinic Clinical Hospital Center Rijeka. Her research interest is mainly focused on psoriasis.
Ines Brajac is a scientist who, after graduating from secondary medical school in 1982, joined the Faculty of Medicine. She graduated in 1987 and completed her specialization in dermatovenerology in 1998. Today, she is a full professor with a permanent title in the scientific field of biomedicine and healthcare, scientific branch of dermatovenerology, at the Department of Dermatovenerology of the Faculty of Medicine in Rijeka. She has been working at the Dermatovenerology Clinic of KBC Rijeka since 1991 and has been the head of the clinic since 2005. She actively participates in numerous congresses and symposia and is the author and co-author of numerous professional and scientific articles, chapters in textbooks, books, and scientific monographs. She is the head of the specialist training program in dermatology and venereology, the chairman of the examination committee for specialist exams in dermatology and venereology, a member of the Dermatology and Venereology Commission at the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare of the Republic of Croatia. She is a member of several professional associations: the Croatian Medical Chamber, the Croatian Medical Association, the Croatian Dermatovenerology Society, and the European Academy of Dermatovenerology (EADV). She is the vice-president of the Croatian Society for Aesthetic Medicine (HDEM). Her research interests mainly focus on pustulosis palmoplantaris and psoriasis.
Marija Kaštelan is the head of the Department of Dermatovenerology at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Rijeka. She is the head of the Psoriasis Referral Center at the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare and works as a dermatologist at the Rijeka Clinical Hospital Center. Dr. Kaštelan also works in a private dermatology practice, 3DERM, in Rijeka. She graduated in 1990 from the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Zagreb. Since 2001, she has been a specialist in dermatovenerology and became a professor at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Rijeka, in 2011. The main areas of her scientific research are immunopathogenesis and the genetics of papulosquamous diseases, especially psoriasis. She has published more than 80 scientific articles in peer-reviewed medical journals. Dr. Kaštelan has attended many professional trainings in dermatological centers of excellence in Europe, as well as numerous symposia and courses in the fields of inflammatory dermatological diseases, allergic dermatoses, and aesthetic dermatology. Her research interest is mainly focused on vitiligo.
