Dr Abdoul Risgou Ouédraogo is a pulmonologist at the Tengandogo Hospital University of Ouagadougou and lecturer at the Joseph KI-ZERBO University of Ouagadougou in Burkina Faso. He is Burkina Faso’s national consultant for the International Union Against Tuberculosis and Lung Disease (the Union). He obtained his medical degree from the University of Ouagadougou in Burkina Faso and completed his specialization in pulmonology at the Félix Houphouët Boigny University in Côte d’Ivoire and the Lomé University in Togo. He holds a master's degree in public health from the Joseph KI-ZERBO University of Ouagadougou in Burkina Faso. Since 2022, he has been part of the faculty for the PATS-MECOR course (Pan African Thoracic Society— Methods in Epidemiologic, Clinical, and Operations Research). In 2018, he won a BREATHE small grant award from the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine, the United Kingdom Medical Research Council, and the United Kingdom Department for International Development. His research areas of interest are on tuberculosis, obstructive sleep apnea, and respiratory diseases related to air pollution. Currently, he is involved in multi-countries studies [e.g. 1) The Chronic Respiratory Disease Observatory for Africa, the CHEST-AFRICA project implemented in seven African countries; 2) the integration of smoking cessation intervention for tuberculosis patients into routine tuberculosis service in two African countries].
Dr. Attannon Arnauld FIOGBE is a chest physician, clinical researcher, and specialist in public health (global health). He received his specialization diploma from University of Lomé (Togo) and earned an MPH grade from the University of Bordeaux (France) in 2015 and 2016, respectively. Since 2018, he has been working within the Benin National Tuberculosis Program (NTP) and serving as technical advisor for DR-TB and childhood TB. He joined the Union in 2020 as a national consultant, and currently he is in charge of several research implementations and is strongly involved in technical support for other NTPs in Africa. His research topics mainly include: TB and comorbidities, post-TB lung diseases, lung cancer, and asthma.
Dr. Kobto Ghislain Koura is a medical doctor and public health specialist. He is the director of the Tuberculosis Department at The Union. He addresses the challenges of tuberculosis by supporting and advising National Tuberculosis Programmes in low–middle-income countries. Dr Koura’s other work includes operational research projects, participating in Union training courses, and providing technical assistance. He has also served as a faculty member in some courses in France and is an associate researcher at the MERIT Laboratory, a laboratory of the Institut de Recherche pour le Développement (The French National Research Institute for Sustainable Development).
