Catherine Montenegro has an undergraduate degree in Microbiology and Clinical Laboratory. She obtained a MSc degree in Biological Sciences Immunology and is currently a PhD student in Biological Sciences Immunology, studying the immune response to rotavirus in mice

Dr. Federico Perdomo is an Assistant Professor at the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana (PUJ) in Bogota, Colombia. He received his Ph.D. degree in Immunology at the Universidad de Antioquia and took up a Post-Doctoral research position at the Institut Pasteur. He has studied global aspects of the immune response against viral infections, with a particular focus on the T-cell response, and he has orientated his research toward clinically relevant problems. These initially included flavivirus infections, which are endemic in Colombia, and subsequently HIV and HBV infections, highly prevalent worldwide.

Dr. Manuel Antonio Franco is a Full Professor at the Pontificia Universidad de Javeriana (PUJ) in Bogota, Colombia. He received his MD in Fundamental Immunology at the Universite de Paris VII in Paris, France, and took up a Post-Doctoral research position at Stanford University in the United States of America. His research focuses on mucosal immunology and immune response to Rotavirus, and he has contributed in three areas: (1) the mechanisms that mediate immunity to rotavirus in mice, (2) the characterization of the adaptive immune response to rotavirus in adults and children with or without rotavirus disease or after vaccination, and (3) the in vitro innate immune response generated against rotavirus by model intestinal epithelial cells.
