Dr. Antonio Ruiz completed a PhD in materials science from University College London, where he worked in the development of thin film sensors and ion-selective electrodes for a variety of applications, including healthcare and environmental monitoring. He then undertook a postdoctoral position at the University of Cambridge, developing low-cost sensors and biosensors for agricultural applications. His work has been focused on the improvement of ion-selective electrode matrices through the incorporation of advanced materials and nanomaterials, which has led to the design of ultrastable and selective devices that have been tested clinically.
