Prof. Jean-François Gal currently serves as Professor emeritus-honorary at the Institut de Chimie de Nice (ICN), Université Côte d'Azur-CNRS, France. He started as a lecturer in chemistry at the University of Nice Sophia Antipolis from 1981 to 1991. During this period, he visited the Department of Chemistry at the University of California, Irvine twice as a postdoc and as a research associate, and he was invited to the the University of California, Davis two times. He then worked as a professor (full) in chemistry at the University of Nice Sophia Antipolis in 1992, now the Université Côte d'Azur. His research interests include physical chemistry, analytical chemistry, mass spectrometry, ion/molecule reactions, and Lewis acidity and basicity.
