Dr. Steigvilė Byčenkienė is the Head of the FTMC Department at FTMC with more than 20 years of experience in the atmospheric sciences. Her scientific knowledge, expertise, and long-term experience in climate change mitigation and adaptation, and a thorough understanding of environmental laws and standards, led to her taking on multiple positions as a governmental and science-based expert, providing inputs relevant to the management of climate change and sustainable development policies, strategies and programs in areas enhancing environmental quality standards based on scientific evidence. Her current research interests focus on a challenge-oriented approach and solutions that bring together the natural sciences, which underpin the understanding, development, and application of technologies to deliver a sustainable future. As well as undertaking international and national projects in these areas, she has made considerable contributions to national guidance for Lithuanian local and EC authorities. Building upon 10 years of experience with trace gas inventorying, she has been nominated by order of the Minister of MoE as the GHG (CO2, CH4 and N2O) Lithuanian national expert.
