Author Biographies

Tomislav Rolich was born on 22 April 1971 in Zagreb. In April 2005 he received his PhD at the University of Zagreb Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing in Technical Sciences, in the scientific field of computing under the mentorship of prof. Darko Grundler, PhD. He was elected to the scientific and teaching title of Full Professor in the Permanent Election in 2022 at the University of Zagreb Faculty of Textile Technology. His research focuses on optimization processes, evolutionary algorithms, fuzzy logic, and neural networks. He has participated in five scientific projects of the Ministry of Science, Education, and Sports of the Republic of Croatia. He was the head of a scientific research project “Application of mathematical modelling and intelligent algorithms in clothing construction” funded by the Croatian Science Foundation. He has published 3 book chapters, 6 university textbooks, 18 journal papers, and 48 scientific papers in conference proceedings with international review in the fields of optimization, evolutionary algorithms, fuzzy logic, and neural networks. Additionally, he has held various leadership roles within the University of Zagreb Faculty of Textile Technology, including serving as Vice Dean for Academic and Student Affairs, from the academic year 2020/2021 to 2022/2023, and leading the Department of Fundamental Natural and Engineering Sciences. He has been involved in functions such as coordinating e-learning, ethics, and technology programs.
Daniel Domović, born on June 10, 1987 in Zagreb, Croatia, earned his Undergraduate and Graduate degrees in Computing at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing at the University of Zagreb. In 2018, Dr. Domovic further solidified his expertise by obtaining his PhD in Computer Science at the same faculty. His academic background includes a six-year tenure as a research fellow (2012-2018) at the University of Zagreb Faculty of Textile Technology, followed by four years as a postdoctoral researcher (2018-2022) at the same institution. In 2022, he was appointed as Assistant Professor at the University of Zagreb Faculty of Textile Technology. Dr. Domovic's research focuses on utilizing algorithms based on evolutionary computation, deep learning, and machine learning to optimize processes within the textile industry. His contributions to this field include 23 scientific articles, 1 scientific book, 1 university textbook, and 1 vocational book. Furthermore, he has been recognized for his achievements with three Faculty awards.
