Prof. Dr. Olena Taratula is currently an Associate Professor at the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, College of Pharmacy, Oregon State University, Corvallis, United States. She received her master's degree from the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv, Ukraine, in 2002. In 2008, she earned a Ph.D. from the State University of New Jersey, Rutgers. Her research utilizes an interdisciplinary approach toward the development of effective in vitro/in vivo biosensors, nano-imaging agents, and nanotherapeutics, particularly for cancer. A good portion of her research is focused on designing and evaluating diagnostic nanomaterial-based imaging agents for cancer and other diseases. Central to her research is the exploration of multifunctional nanomaterials as targeted platforms for the systemic delivery of therapeutic and imaging agents. This approach offers enhanced control over drug delivery and release mechanisms, thereby facilitating more precise diagnosis and treatment of cancer.
