Prof. Clara I. Bermudez-Santana received her Master’s degree in Human Genetics at the Universidad Nacional de Colombia and her Ph.D. in Rerum Naturalium at Leipzig University. She is now working as a Professor of Genetics and Computational Biology at the Universidad Nacional de Colombia. She has published over 30 papers in various journals, with over 150 citations. Her research topics mainly include: RNA structure, Comparative genomics, and Viral RNAs.
Dr. Juan Carlos Gallego-Gómez is a Geneticist Biologist from the Universidad del Valle and obtained his Ph.D. in Molecular Biology from the Autonomous University of Madrid and at the National Biotechnology Center of Spain (CNB-CSIC). He is a Professor of the Department of Microbiology and Parasitology of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Antioquia, where he directs the Molecular and Translational Medicine Group and has been a Senior Colciencias Researcher since 2013. Currently, he is a Ph.D. student in Philosophy at the Universidad del Valle, Department of Philosophy and Faculty of Humanities. His research interests include medicine immunology and microbiology biochemistry, genetics and molecular biology, agricultural and biological sciences neuroscience pharmacology, toxicology and pharmaceutics.
