Dr. Laura A. Favetta is an Associate Professor at the Department of Biomedical Sciences, University of Guelph, Canada. She graduated with a BSc in Pharmacology at the University of Milan, Italy, and completed a Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences in the Department of Biomedical Sciences at the University of Guelph in 2004. She became an Assistant Professor in the summer of 2017 and was promoted to the role of Associate Professor in July 2022. Her research interests lie in the effect of Endocrine Disrupting Compounds (EDCs), such as Bisphenol A (BPA), and oxidative stressors on gene expression and molecular mechanisms regulating early embryonic development and cell proliferation/arrest, and the effect of cannabinoids (THC) on gamete competence and fertilization capability and pre-implantation embryonic development.
