Dr. Yao-Wei Huang, Ph.D., has a position as a professor and is currently working at the College of Veterinary Medicine, South China Agricultural University, Guangzhou, China, and Department of Veterinary Medicine, Zhejiang University, Hangzhou, China. He holds a bachelor of science degree from the Department of Biological Sciences and Technology, Nanjing University, a master’s degree in preventive veterinary medicine at the College of Animal Science, Zhejiang University (later transferred to a combined master’s and doctoral program), and a Ph.D. in biomedical engineering from the Department of Biomedical Engineering, Zhejiang University. His research directions are porcine enteric coronaviruses (PEDV, PDCoV, SeACoV/SADS-CoV); hepatitis E virus (HEV); other important swine pathogenic viruses and new emerging viruses; and human use and new veterinary vaccines. He is an editorial board member of SCI journals "Virology", "Virus Research", "Veterinary Microbiology", and “Acta Chinese Veterinary Science”. To date, he has published more than 110 papers included in "SCI", with a total of more than 3500 citations (according to the ISI database), and an H-index of 35; including more than 50 papers by the first author or corresponding author (including co-corresponding author).
Dr. Rui-Ai Chen received her Ph.D. in microbiology from the China Agricultural University. Currently, she is a professor and a Ph.D. advisor at the College of Veterinary Medicines, South China Agricultural University. She is a President of Guangdong Wens Dahuanong Biotechnology Co., Ltd. (DHN), and Vice-Chairman of the China Veterinary Drug Association (CVDA). She is one of the most influential leaders in the Chinese animal health arena and, as a result, she is entitled to special allowances provided by the Chinese State Council, an honor for outstanding scientists in China. She is a well-known expert in the prevention and control of animal diseases, and vaccine research. She possesses 41 patents and 22 new veterinary drug certificates. She has received 14 technical awards at the provincial and national levels, such as first prize for the Guangdong Provincial Science and Technology Award and the China Outstanding Patent. Her achievements include the development and industrialization of avian influenza vaccines, PRRS vaccines, and coccidiosis vaccines. She is also a director of the Enterprise Key Laboratory of MOA for Animal Disease Prevention and Control, Biotechnology, and Biological Product R&D.
