Simone Bertini holds a Master’s Degree in Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Technology (CTF) and a Ph.D. in Medicinal Chemistry from the University of Pisa and currently is an Associate Professor at the Department of Pharmacy at the same university. He was a Researcher at the Department of Pharmacy, University of Pisa (2006–2020) and was promoted to Associate Professor in 2020. His main research interests include modulators of the GPR55 receptor; modulators of the endocannabinoid system; beta-secretase inhibitors; multitarget neuroprotective molecules; nutraceuticals from extra virgin olive oil; oestrogen receptor modulators; ceramide mimics; and resveratrol analogues.
Maria Digiacomo is an Associate Professor at the Department of Pharmacy, University of Pisa. She graduated from the University of Pisa with a laurea in Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Technology in 2002 and earned a Ph.D. in the Science of Drugs and Bioactive Substances from the same university in 2006. She served as a Researcher at the Department of Pharmacy, University of Pisa from 2012 to 2022. Her interests and expertise include P-glycoprotein; myocardial ischemia; drug metabolism; and pharmaceutical development.
