Prof. Dr. Costas S. Tzafestas is an Associate Professor of Robotics at the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering, National Technical University of Athens. He holds an Electrical and Computer Engineering Degree from the National Technical University of Athens (1993), as well as a D.E.A. (1994) and Ph.D. (1998) Degree in Robotics from the Université Pierre et Marie Curie (Paris 6), France. He has previously served as a Research Associate at the Institute of Informatics and Telecommunications of the National Center for Scientific Research “Demokritos”, Athens, Greece. His current research interests include human–robot interaction, haptics, and telerobotics, as well as intelligent robot control and robot skill learning, with applications in the fields of medical and assistive robotics. He has also worked on robust, adaptive, and neural control with applications in dextrous manipulation and walking/mobile robots.
