Ashley A. White is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Health Services Administration at Xavier in Cincinnati, OH and an epidemiologist. She teaches Quantitative Methods, Applied Epidemiology, Public Health, and Population Health Management courses. Her research focuses on the geospatial analysis of health services to understand and improve healthcare inequities. She completed her undergraduate degree in Natural Sciences/Biology at Xavier University, then earned a Master of Public Health, with a concentration in Health Education and Promotion at the University of Cincinnati and her Ph.D. in Epidemiology at the Medical University of South Carolina. She worked for the Northern Kentucky Independent District Health Department and Cincinnati Health Department between her master’s and doctoral degree programs, and also served as a Research Business Coordinator at the Research Institute at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, OH.
Ashley M Varol joined the Xavier faculty as a full-time
Teaching Professor in the fall of 2019, and served as an adjunct faculty member
since 2009. Additional roles she holds include being a Subject Matter Expert
and Master Trainer for the American Council on Exercise (ACE), which is an NCCA-accredited,
certifying body in the fitness industry, and of which she holds all 4
certifications. She earned her B.S. in Health Science, with a concentration in
Sports and Biomechanics, her M.Ed. in Health Education, with a concentration in
Community Health, and a Ph.D. in Health Education, Employee Health, and
Chronic Pain focus, all from the University of Cincinnati in 2006, 2008, and
2016, respectively. Her expertise is fitness with special populations,
addressing chronic pain with movement not medication.
