Dr. Hamza Sohail is a post-doctoral researcher at the College of Horticulture and Landscape Architecture, Yangzhou University: Yangzhou, China. They received a Ph.D. from the College of Horticulture and Forestry Sciences, Huazhong Agricultural University: Wuhan, China, in 2021, and are currently working at the College of Horticulture and Forestry, at Huazhong Agricultural University. Dr. Hamza Sohail does research in horticulture, food science, and agricultural plant science. Their current project is “Hairy Root Transformation in Cucurbits.”

Xuewen Xu is an associate professor at the School of Horticulture and Landscape Architecture, Yangzhou University, and is the deputy secretary general of the Yangzhou Vegetable Society. He received his bachelor’s degree from Anhui Agricultural University in 2010, and earned his master’s degree in vegetable science and a Ph.D. in horticultural plant resistance and resource utilization from Yangzhou University in 2013 and 2017, respectively. His main research areas include the stress resistance of cucumbers (e.g., flooding tolerance, powdery mildew resistance) and the quality of cucumbers (e.g., skin color, flesh color, flesh thickness, fruit flavor).
