Author Biographies

Choirun Nissa holds a Master’s degree in Nutrition Science from Diponegoro University, Indonesia (2012) and is a Lecturer at Diponegoro University. Choirun Nissa also served as a Lecturer at Jenderal Soedirman University (2013–2014) and has been pursuing a Ph.D. at the Department of Nutrition, Dietetics and Food, Monash University, Australia since 2023, with a focus on the current oncology nutrition care practice in Indonesia.
Lauren Hanna is currently a Research Fellow at the Department of Nutrition, Dietetics and Food, Monash University, Australia. Before that, she was a Clinical Dietitian in Dietetics at Monash Health (2016–2023). She received her Bachelor of Nutrition and Dietetics from Deakin University in 2008 and earned her Ph.D. from Monash University in 2022, with the doctoral thesis titled ‘Examining the interplay between skeletal muscle stores, nutrition status, quality of life and survival in upper gastrointestinal cancer’, highlighted the central role of nutrition in determining the quality of life and survival outcomes in people with pancreatic, gastric and oesophageal cancers.
Prof. Judy Bauer is Head of Department and Discipline Lead of Nutrition & Dietetics within the Department of Nutrition, Dietetics and Food, Monash University, Clayton, Victoria, Australia. She completed a Bachelor of Science at the University of Queensland and a Graduate Diploma in Nutrition & Dietetics, a Master of Health Science, and a Ph.D. from Queensland University of Technology. She is a Life Member and Fellow of Dietitians Australia and an Accredited Practicing Dietitian with over 40 years of clinical, research, and academic experience. She is a Board member of the Clinical Oncology Society of Australia and a member of the Australian Dietetics Council. She is recognized internationally for discovery and translational research in nutrition screening, assessment, innovative nutrition intervention programs, and development of evidence-based practice guidelines particularly in oncology and malnutrition. Judy is passionate about evidence-informing nutrition practice and is widely published with a Scopus H-index of 47. She has supervised over 17 Ph.D. scholars who are now leading clinical/academic researchers.
