Luis Filipe Vicente Constantino obtained his PhD in Medicinal Chemistry in 1994 from Universidade de Lisboa and earned his degree (Licenciatura in Ciências Farmacêuticas) in 1985 from the same University. Constantino has served as the Principal Investigator on five funded projects and as a researcher on three others. Throughout his career, he has primarily focused on drug development for infectious diseases, particularly tuberculosis, and the teaching of Organic and Medicinal Chemistry. He has published twenty-three articles. Additionally, he has authored five book chapters and one book, holds twenty-one patents and patent applications, and has supervised or co-supervised two PhD theses, twenty-four MSc dissertations, and one postdoctoral project, receiving three awards and honors. His commitment to education extends beyond research; he has led numerous courses at the Faculdade de Farmácia, at both the bachelor's and master's levels. His service to the Faculdade de Farmácia includes roles as vice-president of the Scientific Council (2001-2003), director of the Sub-group of Organic Chemistry and Phytochemistry, and Member of the School Council (2018-2022). Furthermore, he coordinated the master’s degree program in Pharmaceutical Chemistry (1999-2007). Constantino has served as a court expert in 15 legal proceedings related to medicinal products and has acted as an expert witness in more than 50 court cases in the same area.
