Christa Buechler is head of the research group "Clinical Cohort Studies" at the Department of Internal Medicine I, University Hospital Regensburg, Germany. She received her M.Sc. in Biology in 1987 and her PhD in Natural Sciences in 1991. She is a member of the editorial board of Biomedicine. Her research interests include the identification of biomarkers in liver disease, inflammatory bowel disease and sepsis.
