Francisco J Rodriguez is the Scientific Director of the Fundación Oftalmológica Nacional and Chair of the Department of Ophthalmology at the Universidad del Rosario School of Medicine in Bogotá, Colombia. He received his medical degree from the Universidad del Rosario School of Medicine in 1986, and carried out his ophthalmology residency at the Fundación Oftalmológica Nacional. He then completed a vitreoretinal surgical fellowship at the Jules Stein Eye Institute, UCLA, Los Angeles, California, USA, and a medical retina fellowship at the Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital, New York. This was followed by an electrophysiology/hereditary retinal diseases fellowship at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, University of Miami Leonard M. Miller School of Medicine in Florida. His research interests include diabetic retinopathy and diabetic macular edema, AMD, retinal vein occlusion, central serous chorioretinopathy, interface vitreoretinal abnormalities and retinal detachment.

Dr. Maria H. Berrocal completed her vitreo-retinal training at the Department of Ophthalmology, NYH/Cornell University, and a medical retina fellowship with Dr. J Donald Gass at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute and was a Heed Fellow awardee. She is former President of the Panamerican Society of Vitreoretinal specialists, a charter inductee to the Retina Hall of Fame and the SOI. She has received the AAO Lifetime Achievement Award, Senior Achievement Award and ASRS Senior Honor Award and the Doctors Choice Award yearly since 2002. Dr. Berrocal has been an invited speaker and visiting surgeon in over 20 countries. She has received the ASRS Founders Award, Stanley Chang Lectureship, the J Donald Gass Lectureship, the ARDS Founders Award, Fundadores Lecture SPRV, VBS Keynote Speaker, Bryan Liddy Lecture, Robison B Harley Lecture, Frank Spellman lecture, José Berrocal Memorial Lecture, and the Navas Lectureship. She has authored and co-authored over 180 articles and book chapters.
Lihteh Wu is a founding member of the Pan American Collaborative Retina Study Group. He has been awarded the Senior Honor Award by the ASRS, the Senior Honor Award by the Greek Vitreoretinal Society, the Achievement Award and the Senior Achievement Award by the American Academy of Ophthalmology. In 2018, he was inducted into the Retina Hall of Fame. He was the 2014 Sociedad Panamericana de Retina y Vitreo GLADAOF Lecturer, the 2017 American Journal of Ophthalmology Lecturer at the PAAO meeting and the 2022 Founder’s Lecturer of the Sociedad Panamericana de Retina y Vitreo. He sits on the editorial board of the American Journal of Ophthalmology, Retina Cases and Brief Reports, Journal of VitreoRetinal Diseases and the International Journal of Retina and Vitreous. He is the former President of the Pan American Retina and Vitreous Society and served as the Vice President of the Pan American Association of Ophthalmology. He has served as a member of the Club Jules Gonin Executive Committee and the Vail Vitrectomy Program Committee. He served two terms as President of the Costa Rican Ophthalmological Association. He served on the Board of Trustees of the AAO. He is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. He is a Member of the Club Jules Gonin, Macula Society, Retina Society and the American Society of Retinal Specialists.
