Author Biographies

Enrique Aguilar was born in Noreña (Asturias, Spain) and received his PhD from the Universidad de Oviedo under the supervision of Prof. J.Barluenga and Prof. S. Fustero in 1991. After postdoctoral research with Prof. A. I. Meyers at Colorado State University (1991–1994), he returned to the Universidad de Oviedo as Researcher, being promoted to Assistant Professor in 1996, to Associate Professor in 2002 and to Full Professor in 2019. He has been a Visiting Scientist at the University of Colorado (1996, with Prof. G. A. Molander). His current interests are centered on the development of synthetic organic methodology, organometallic chemistry, homogeneous metal catalysis, and 3D bioprinting.
Helena Herrada-Manchón, born in Vilanova i la Geltrú (Barcelona, Spain), holds a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Oviedo. She also earned a master's degree in Chemistry and Sustainable Development, as well as a bachelor's degree in Pharmacy from the University of Barcelona. After several years dedicated to community pharmacy during her master's studies, she joined the staff of the IDONIAL Technology Centre, where she currently serves as the technical manager for the development of inks and bioinks for 3D printing in sectors of high interest, such as tissue engineering, regenerative medicine, or the pharmaceutical industry. Her main interests lie in hydrogels, rheology, material characterization, and all 3D printing technologies applied to the healthcare field.
