Prof. Ioanna Giannopoulou currently works as an Assistant Professor in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Athens, Greece. She joined the Rotational Training in Psychiatry, The Maudsley and The Bethlem Royal Hospitals, London, UK from 1988 to 1991, and the Higher Rotational Training in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry, The Maudsley and The Bethlem Royal Hospitals, London, UK from 1991 to 1995, then got a Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training (CCST, UK). She has been a member of the Hellenic Society for Psychosocial Interventions in Disasters and Mass Emergencies, and the Hellenic Society for the Study of ADHD. She earned, a Medical Degree at the University of Athens in 1983, a Licentiate degree in Psychiatry at the Karolinska Institute, Stockholm, Sweden in 1987, and a Ph.D. at the Institute of Psychiatry, King’s College University of London, UK in 2003. Her research interests include PTSD and COVID-19.
Dr. Eirini Maratou currently works at the Laboratory of Clinical Biochemistry, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece. She obtained a Bachelor's degree in Biology at the Department of Biology, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and a Ph.D. in Neuroscience at the School of Biology, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. During the Ph.D., she studied the effect of pesticides on molluscan neurons, the epileptic activity of the giant neurons of Helix lucorum, and the neuronal circuit of the salivary glands controlled by pacemaker neurons. As a postdoc researcher, she focused on the biochemistry of cellular metabolism, diabetes and metabolic diseases.
