Fabio Fusi is a Researcher and Senior Lecturer at the University of Siena, Italy, in the field of electrophysiology and pharmacology. He obtained a Degree in Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Technology in 1991. He received a PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences in 1995. He was an Assistant Professor at the University of Siena in 2002. He was a Research Associate at Trinity College, Dublin, Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, Sofia; Southern Illinois University, Springfield, IL; and the University of Cambridge. He is a Member of the Italian Pharmacological Society. He won the TEMPUS Scholarship and the CNR NATO Scholarship.
Simona Saponara is an Associate Professor of Pharmacology at the University of Siena. She obtained a Master’s Degree in Pharmacy at the University of Siena in 1997. She received a Ph.D. in Molecular Pharmacology and Toxicology at the University of Siena in 2001. She was an Assistant Professor
of Pharmacology at the University of Siena from 2008 to 2021. She is a member of PhD in Life Sciences. She is a Library delegate for Dep of Life Science and a Member of the Board of the Library of Medical–Biological–Pharmaceutical area at the University of Siena. She is also a member of the Italian Pharmacological Society. She won the Young Researcher Award at the University of Siena in 2001. She was the Principal Investigator of the project "Optimization of oncology therapy: novel drugs affecting multi-drug resistance" (Futuro In Ricerca RBFR12SOQ1, 2013-2017) financed by the Italian Ministry of Education, University and Research and the Leader of the Working Group 4 "Pharmacokinetic and ADME/toxicology of new therapeutic tools; safety of therapeutic targets" of the Cost Action CA17104 "New diagnostic and therapeutic tools against multidrug resistant tumors".
Dame Margaret A. Brimble is a Distinguished Professor and Director of Medicinal Chemistry at the University of Auckland, New Zealand. She is an Associate Editor for Organic Letters, Deputy Director of the Maurice Wilkins Centre for Molecular Biodiscovery, and Past President of IUPAC Organic and Biomolecular Division III. She is a Fellow of the Royal Society London, Dame Companion of the New Zealand Order of Merit, and has been inducted into the American Chemical Society Medicinal Chemistry Hall of Fame. She received the 2023 Davy Medal for chemistry from the Royal Society London, the 2023 American Chemical Society Ernest Guenther Award for natural products chemistry, and the 2022 Royal Society of Chemistry Pedler Award for research and innovation in organic chemistry. She also received the Rutherford, Hector, and MacDiarmid medals (Royal Society NZ), the 2019 Kiwinet BNZ Supreme Commercialization Award and Baldwins Research Entrepreneur Award, the Marsden medal (NZ Association of Scientists), and the Royal Society of Chemistry Sosnovsky Award for Cancer Therapy and Natural Products Award. Her research focuses on the synthesis of novel bioactive natural products, antimicrobial and antiviral peptides, and the synthesis of lipopeptides and glycopeptides for cancer vaccines and new biomaterials. She also works on agritech projects developing new methanogen and nitrification inhibitors, rat-selective toxicants, and new biocides/sanitisers.
Dr. David Rennison is a senior research fellow in the School of Chemical Sciences at the University of Auckland, New Zealand, where he specializes in providing medchem-based solutions for the Agritech sector. Prior to that, he held positions at the Universities of Bristol and Bath in the UK and received his Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Manchester, UK, in 2001.
