Prof. Dr. Grégoire Robert is a Professor of Urology at the Centre Hospitalier Universitaire de Bordeaux. He studied medicine at Paris 6 University (UFR Broussais Hôtel Dieu) between 1995 and 2001, and obtained his MD degree in Urology from the Université de Bordeaux in 2006 and his Ph.D. in Life and Health Sciences from the Université Paris-Est Créteil (UPEC) in 2011. He was an intern in Urology from 2001 to 2006, and then was Head of Clinic from 2006 to 2009. During his training, he worked in several university departments (IMM in Paris and Henri Mondor in Créteil) and spent a year abroad in a research laboratory (NCMLS, Nijmegen, the Netherlands). He maintains regular collaborations with these teams, both clinically and on research projects. Since 2010, he has been working in the Urology Department at Bordeaux University Hospital. He currently devotes most of his time to urological oncology, robotic surgery, and laser surgery for benign prostatic hyperplasia (HoLEP). He also has a particular interest in outpatient surgery and minimally invasive treatments for urinary disorders, the development of which he coordinates within the team.
Prof. Dr. Alain Ravaud is a medical oncologist at the Bordeaux University Hospital (CHU) and a professor of cancerology at the University of Bordeaux. He is a member of Inserm Unit 1312 (Directed by Dr Frédéric Saltel). He is also the medical director of the Bordeaux CHU’s 3C and coordinated Bordeaux CHU’s Integrated Cancer Centre. On the regional level, he coordinates the graduate degree (DES) in oncology, and on the national level, he is responsible for coordinating the specialized interdisciplinary training in oncology (for interns). He did his internship in Toulouse from 1982 to 1988, was the Assistant Chief Resident, and then became a Cancer Centre practitioner at the Institut Bergonié from 1988 to 2002 before being appointed professor of cancerology at the Bordeaux CHU. His interest is mainly focused on cancer of the kidneys and bladder, and its early stages. He is a reviewer for international journals, particularly A-ranked ones. He is also a member of cooperative groups (GETUG: urologic tumors) and scholarly societies (ASCO, ESMO) as well as an editor for the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) guidelines for bladder cancer care.
