José Ortega-Campos's research interests are focused on the synthetic, physicochemical, and biological study of new rationally developed metallodrugs, with potential antineoplastic and antiparasitic activity. To explain the activity, his research group performs the spectroelectrochemical and ESR characterization of the complexes and free binders, considering theoretical studies and antioxidant capacity when required. The group can evaluate biological activity in different in vitro, in vivo, and ex vivo models, using different techniques adapted to its requirements.
