Dr. Paulo José Lima Juiz is a professor at the Federal University of Recôncavo da Bahia. He has a Master's in Immunology from the Federal University of Bahia (UFRB) and specializations in Molecular Biology applied to Forensic Medicine and Microbiology. He also holds a PhD in biotechnology and a Post-doctorate in Pharmacy. Dr. Juiz is a professor in the Postgraduate Program in Intellectual Property and Technology Transfer for Innovation at UFRB and the Postgraduate Program in Biotechnology at the State University of Feira de Santana. He has extensive experience in Intellectual Property and was the manager of the Intellectual Property Office at UFRB in 2018 and 2019. Dr. Juiz is a member of the Brazilian Society of Microbiology and the Brazilian Society of Pharmacognosy. Additionally, Dr. Juiz's research focuses on the biological activities of natural products.
Dr. Edilson Araújo Pires is a Professor in the Professional Master's program in Intellectual Property and Technology Transfer for Innovation (PROFIT) at the Federal University of Recôncavo da Bahia (UFRB). He received his Doctorate and a Master's degree in Intellectual Property Science from the Federal University of Sergipe (UFS), with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from UNIJORGE and a degree in History from the State University of Bahia (UNEB). His key research interests mainly include intellectual property, patents, trademarks, innovation, industrial property, technological innovation centers, NITs, and entrepreneurship.
Prof. Dr. Cristiane Flora Villarreal holds a PhD in Pharmacology from the Faculty of Medicine of Ribeirão Preto, University of São Paulo. She has been a member of the International Association for the Study of Pain since 2005, from which she received the "IASP Award for Excellence in Pain Research and Management in Developing Countries". Currently, she is a full professor of Pharmacology at the Federal University of Bahia and a collaborating researcher at FIOCRUZ. She is also a professor on the permanent staff of the Postgraduate Program in Pharmacy at UFBA and the Postgraduate Program in Biotechnology in Health and Investigative Medicine at FIOCRUZ. She has experience in coordinating network research projects and works on technological development projects. Currently, her main areas of activity are the development of analgesics and anti-inflammatories; bioprospecting and pharmacology of natural products; biopharmaceuticals and advanced cell therapy products; cellular therapy in neuropathic pain; and pathophysiology of chronic pain.
