Hyunjin Baik received a doctorate in environmental horticulture from the University of Seoul. She has lectured at Korea University and Sookmyung Women's University, and she served as a senior researcher at Korea University's Environmental Medicine Research Institute. She is currently the CEO of Korea Research Institute for People & Environment Research Institute Co., Ltd. She is conducting various research activities on the physical and mental effects and positive changes that plants, gardens, and natural environments have on humans. Her research interests include restoration of nature and people through the implementation of green welfare, and various research projects aimed at advancing towards a sustainable society by caring for nature and people together through nature-based treatment and applied alternative medicine. Her research topics mainly include: garden therapy; therapeutic gardening programs; healing gardens; psychosocial interventions; nature-based interventions; nature-based therapies.
