Dr. Rachel Zemel is an internal medicine/pediatric specialist in Washington, District of Columbia. She received her medical degree from George Washington University School of Medicine and has been in practice for 3 to 5 years. She obtained her BS in Physiology and Neurobiology from the University of Maryland, College Park in 2017. She is passionate about pursuing a career in hematology-oncology, and her other career interests include palliative care, mental health advocacy, and teaching.
Dr. Jennifer A. Marks is a hematology/medical oncology clinical fellow at the Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center of Georgetown University in Washington, DC. A New Orleans native, Dr. Marks graduated as a Creative Premedical Scholar from Tulane University receiving her medical degree at Tulane University School of Medicine. She completed her Internal Medicine residency at Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, GA, and is a board-certified internist. Her interests lie in thoracic malignancies with an affinity for precision medicine and biomarker identification. With the guidance of Dr. Stephen V. Liu, her research in collaboration with Caris Life Sciences focuses on MET Exon 14 Skipping Mutation in Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer. She has presented her research at various national and international conferences, most recently via oral presentation at the IASLC World Conference on Lung Cancer in Vienna, Austria, and poster presentation for which she received a 2023 Conquer Cancer Merit Award at ASCO 2023.
Dr. Anne S. Renteria is the medical director of the Stem Cell Transplantation and Cellular Immunotherapy program at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, D.C. She is a board-certified medical oncologist and hematologist with a diverse medical background and deep expertise that spans the clinical, administrative, academic, and research realms. As a Clinical Research Physician, she has conducted studies in more than 40 clinical trials. Dr. Renteria served as the medical director of the Acute Leukemia and Stem Cell Transplant and Cellular Therapy program at the Lipson Cancer Institute in Rochester, New York. Dr. Renteria’s academic experience includes serving as the leader and assistant professor of Medicine at the Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia Clinical Research program at the Tisch Cancer Institute, Mount Sinai School of Medicine, and assistant professor of Medicine, Hematology Oncology, at Boston University Medical School.
Dr. Gustavo Rivero is a dual fellowship-trained hematology and medical oncologist specializing in the treatment of acute and chronic leukemia. In addition to his clinical work, at the same time, he is an Associate Professor at the Department of Medicine at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital. Before joining MedStar Health, Dr. Rivero worked in Oncology services at Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center and as an Associate Professor of Hematology and Oncology at Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, Texas. He received his medical degree at Francisco de Miranda University in Santa Ana de Coro, Venezuela, and completed his Internal Medicine residency at Cook County Hospital, Chicago, Illinois. He completed a dual fellowship in Hematology and Medical Oncology at the National Institute of Health, Bethesda, Maryland. His areas of clinical expertise include the following: acute and chronic myeloid leukemia; acute and chronic lymphoid leukemias; myelodysplastic syndrome; myeloproliferative neoplasm; and clonal hematopoiesis of indeterminate potential (CHIP).
