Author Biographies

Wiktoria Staśkiewicz-Bartecka is a doctor of health sciences, with a Master's degree in dietetics, and sports nutritionist at the Department of Food Technology and Quality Evaluation, Department of Dietetics, Faculty of Health Sciences in Bytom, Medical University of Silesia in Katowice, ul. Jordana 19, 41-808 Zabrze, Poland. Her educational experience includes receiving a Bachelor's degree from 2012 to 2015; a Master's degree from 2015 to 2017; and a doctorate in 2017 at the Faculty of Public Health in Bytom, Medical University of Silesia in Katowice. She is a graduate of postgraduate studies in nutrition and supplementation in sports at the Jerzy Kukuczka Academy of Physical Education in Katowice. Her research focuses on nutrition in sports, football, physical activity, eating disorders, and body perception.
Dr. Marek Kardas is a Head of Department at the Faculty of Public Health, Medical University of Silesia in Katowice. He served as a Postdoctoral researcher at Lund University in 2016. Dr. Marek Kardas has served as a Head of Department at the Medical University of Silesia since 2004. His research interests include Food and Nutrition, Food Science and Technology, Food Analysis, Food Technology, Food Quality, Food Safety, Sensory Evaluation, Sensory Analysis, Nutrition, and Public Health.
Dr. Grzegorz Zydek is a Doctor of physical culture, specialist dietitian, and expert in nutrition and supplementation in sports. For over 10 years, he has been a teaching employee of the Academy of Physical Education. Currently, he is a teaching assistant at the Department of Sports Theory, Nutrition and Supplementation, and a Dietitian of the Sports Club of the Academic Sports Association of the University of Physical Education in Katowice. He spoke at the conference of the Medical Commission of the Polish Olympic Committee "Nutrition of Active People 2013", and has conducted numerous training courses on the latest trends in sports nutrition and supplementation. He is the co-author of many publications in the field of nutrition and strength training, as well as academic textbooks. He cooperated as a dietitian and supplementation expert with the first teams of football clubs such as Podbeskidzie Bielsko-Biała, Odra Wodzisław Śląski, Korona Kielce, Górnik Zabrze. Since 2018, he has been cooperating as a nutrition expert with the first football and volleyball teams of GKS Gieksa Katowice S.A. In the years 2010-2014 and from 2016 to this day, he has cooperated with the Gliwice Club Sportowy Piast S.A. in the field of nutrition and supplementation for the first team and youth teams. Since 2008, he has been practicing in the field of nutrition counseling for professional athletes and physically active people.
