Muthuramalingam Thangaraj is currently working as a professor at the Department of Mechatronics Engineering, School of Mechanical Engineering, SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Kattankulathur Campus, Tamilnadu, India. His primary areas of research interest are unconventional machining processes and mechatronics. He has published many research papers in the areas of EDM, ECM, AWJM, and LBM processes; optimization approaches; and manufacturing automation and control. He has been listed among the top 2% of scientists worldwide by Stanford University, USA. He has published around 250 journal and conference papers. He has also been involved in many funding projects as a technical collaborator and investigator. He has visited many international universities to provide collaborative discussions and keynote speeches and act as a session chair. He has also presented papers at many international conferences and competitions held in countries such as the USA, Germany, Belgium, China, the UAE, the Netherlands, Turkey, Poland, Greece, Austria, the Czech republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Sri Lanka, Saudi Arabia, and Vietnam.
