Prof. Lu Ma obtained a bachelor's degree in electronic and information engineering in 2010 and a doctorate in information and communication engineering in 2016 from Harbin Engineering University. Before receiving a Ph.D., she spent a year at the University of Connecticut. She started as a Lecturer in 2016 at the College of Underwater Acoustic Engineering at Harbin Engineering University and now works as a Professor. She is engaged in technical fields, such as underwater acoustic high-speed communications and communication networks. She won the 2022 Youth Science and Technology Award of Heilongjiang Province. She is currently serving as a member of the IEEE/OES “WIE-PROPEL” program.
Prof. Zhaohui Wang works as an Associate Professor at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Michigan Technological University, Houghton, MI, USA, where she was an Assistant Professor from 2013 to 2019. She holds a Ph.D. from the University of Connecticut (2013). Her areas of interest are communications, signal processing, communication networks, and network security, with an emphasis on underwater acoustic applications.
Prof. Gang Qiao is a Professor and Dean of the College of Underwater Acoustic Engineering at Harbin Engineering University, Harbin, China, where he has worked since 1999. At that university, he received bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees in 1996, 1999, and 2004. His research directions include underwater acoustic communication and network technology, pseudo-acoustic communication and detection technology, underwater positioning and navigation technology, etc. He has led the team to achieve a number of internationally leading research results in the field of underwater acoustic communication technology, invented the world’s first full-duplex underwater acoustic communication system, bionic underwater acoustic communication, and other technologies, and developed a series of underwater communication systems, which have made outstanding contributions to marine construction and marine resource development in China.
