Prof. Dr. Yaxuan XIONG is a professor and a graduate tutor at the Beijing University of Civil Engineering and Architecture. He received his doctorate in Environmental Science and Engineering and was a postdoctoral fellow in Environmental Science and Engineering at Beijing University of Technology. He was a visiting scholar at the University of Birmingham, UK, engaged in research on global cutting-edge energy storage technology. He has led multiple key projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the Beijing Natural Science Foundation (as the head of the cooperating unit), and horizontal scientific research projects. He has participated in undertaking multiple national 863 plan projects, 973 plan projects, and national key research and development plan projects, as well as provincial and ministerial-level scientific research projects. His research interests include micro-nano energy storage materials and systems, new technologies for gas pressure regulation, and new dehumidification materials and special dehumidification.
Prof. Dr. Qian XU is an Associate Professor at the Department of Thermal Science and Energy Engineering, and the Tutor for Graduate in the School of Energy and Environmental Engineering. He recived his PhD degree in Power Engineering and Engineering Physics from the School of Energy and Environmental Engineering, University of Science and Technology Beijing, Beijing. He was the State-funded Joint Doctorate in Energy Storage Research Centre, School of Chemical Engineering, University of Birmingham, UK. His research interests mainly include Energy and mass transfer and structural control of cross-scale multiphase flow; Artificial environment, regional distributed intelligent energy systems; Energy saving and waste heat gradient utilization technology for steel, etc. He is the member of the INT J PHOTONERGY Youth Editorial Board (SCI), Young Editorial Board Member (EI) of the Journal of Engineering Science, Deputy Secretary General of the Beijing Postdoctoral Association, Chairman of the Postdoctoral Association of Beijing University of Science and Technology, and Youth Director of Beijing Refrigeration Society.
Prof. Dr. Yulong DING is the founding Chamberlain Chair of Chemical Engineering at the University of Birmingham and director of the Birmingham Centre for Energy Storage. Before his appointment at the University of Birmingham, he was Professor and Director of the Institute of Particle Science & Engineering at the University of Leeds. He joined Leeds in June 2001, after previous employment with Imperial College London (1997-1999), the University of Birmingham (1999-2001), and University of Science and Technology Beijing (1988-1994). Professor Ding was awarded the IChemE Clean Energy Medal (2021) and was a receiver of IChemE Global Awards in three categories of Energy, Research Project and Outstanding Achievement Awards in 2019; the Distinguished Energy Storage Individual Award (Beijing International Energy Storage and Expo, 2018); the Cryogenic Energy Storage Research Chair Award (Royal Academy of Engineering, 2014); Beijing Municipal Science and Technology Progress Award (First Prize, Advanced Compressed Air Energy Storage System, 2014). His current research covers both fundamental (multiphase transport phenomena across length scales) and applied (new energy conversion and storage technologies) aspects.
